Reimagining the potential of extruded yarns, New York designer Sandy Chilewich introduced her woven textiles to the international design community in 2000. Today her design-led company’s unique coverings for tabletops, floors, and more continue to push the boundaries of form and function. Made almost entirely in the United States, the ever-evolving collection combines innovative weaves and distinctive colors with extraordinary durability and easy maintenance.
Chilewich is committed to continuous improvement, both in product and in process. Among their most significant environmental advancements is discontinuing the use of petroleum-based plasticizers that are typically used to soften PVC yarns and replacing them with phthalate-free, renewable vegetable compounds. We call these innovative yarns TerraStrand.

All of Chilewich woven placemats and floor mats are made in the USA, and finished in their own facility in the USA. Our quality, sustainability, and original design set us apart from all others. The Chilewich® collection is made in the USA, with the following exceptions: Bloom, Dahlia, Kaleidoscope, Petal, and Sea Lace made in Taiwan.
Chilewich prides itself on originality. The company specialize in the design and manufacture of woven vinyl textile products for both residential and commercial use. Vinyl is extremely durable, easy to maintain, and provides us with endless creative possibilities.
Unlike many tabletop products, Chilewich textiles can be easily washed with just water and biodegradable detergents, helping to reduce energy expenditures and laundering costs while maintaining a unique, elegant aesthetic.

Chilewich woven vinyl products also contain Microban® antimicrobial protection. This is particularly beneficial for the home and hospitality markets. Microban® works continuously for the lifetime of the product to inhibit the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew. Chilewich fabrics are covered by the GreenGuard® program certified by the GreenGuard® Environmental Institute, which protects human health and quality of life through the reduction of chemical exposure and improved indoor air quality.
