New Weaves

BOW

A contemporary take on classic holiday motifs, Bow combines the rich woven texture, proven performance, and easy care of Chilewich's stain- and fade-resistant TerraStrand yarns with the precision of printed graphics. The colors are both joyful and versatile, allowing these round placemats to go from holiday to every day with ease.

CANOPY

Exploring the interplay of pattern and color, Canopy is a bold in scale and versatile in use. The Chilewich design team developed this double weave to make each placemat a canvas, activating the richly textured surface with petal-like forms and multi-tonal hues that appear to radiate from whatever is placed at the center.

CRANE

A fresh perspective on stripes, Crane reveals the power of weaving to bring new dimension to graphic forms. Vertical and horizontal lines interact with the weave structure to create remarkable depth, with the angularity creating the impression of added texture.

FOXTAIL

A woven ode to color and texture, Foxtail brings the quiet dynamism of diagonal lines to the table. A closer look reveals yarns that incorporate multiple tones within each strand, creating a placemat that is both harmonious and intriguing, ideal for daily use.

LUDINGTON

A special edition developed in collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Inspired by Emeline Travis Ludington’s (American, 1820–1887) Floral Appliqué Quilt (ca. 1850), this placemat offers a vibrant expression of florals, echoing the artistry of generational textile traditions. Layers of texture and hand-appliquéd blooms are reimagined for modern life through precise printing on a durable woven textile that wipes clean.

RIBBON

A contemporary take on classic holiday motifs, Ribbon combines the rich woven texture, proven performance, and easy care of stain- and fade-resistant TerraStrand yarns with the precision of printed graphics. The Chilewich design team drew inspiration from mid-century Christmas cards for the distinctive color palettes, which allow these round placemats to go from holiday to every day with ease.

WILLIAM MORRIS

A special edition developed in collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Inspired by William Morris’s (British, 1834–1896) Violet and Columbine, a textile design registered in 1883, this weave was developed through contemporary techniques with a nod to traditional craftsmanship. Sketching and digital rendering in the Chilewich design studio helped translate the inspiration into a modern woven structure, bringing new functionality to its organic forms, rich colors, and complex pattern repeats.

ZAUMSEIL

A special edition developed in collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Inspired by Ernestine Eberhardt Zaumseil’s (American, 1828–1904) Branches and Vines Quilt (ca. 1875), this placemat combines rhythmic, organic movement with nature-inspired forms in an homage to traditional American quiltmaking. Layers of hand-appliquéd texture are reimagined for modern life through precise printing on a durable woven textile that wipes clean.

SCATTERED LEAVES

Inspired by Martha Stewart’s personal collection of 19th-century botanical prints, Scattered Leaves brings a natural and graphic touch to your table. Its design combines begonia and caladium leaves, printed with great precision on a smooth, ultra-durable woven fabric.

Thanks to digital printing technology, every detail — veins, shades, overlays — is rendered with striking realism, bringing to life a composition that is both fresh and decorative.

DAMASK

Resulting from a collaboration with Martha Stewart, Damask pays tribute to the art of jacquard weaving and the timeless elegance of damask patterns. Intertwined flowers and acanthus leaves form a symmetrical, organic composition, subtly tone-on-tone. The whole design is modernized by a contemporary color palette—refined and easy to mix and match.

Reversible, each placemat offers two distinct looks: the colors are inverted to suit the mood of your table.

ROSETTE

Created in collaboration with Martha Stewart, a rose enthusiast for over 25 years, Rosette pushes the boundaries of weaving to capture the lush beauty of cabbage roses, renowned for their rich, layered petals. Each flower was hand-drawn to preserve the delicate nuances in the weave. Carefully crafted on a jacquard loom, the pattern reveals spectacular blooms with precise outlines and subtle shading.

Thanks to its large-scale design, each placemat is unique. And for added versatility, it is reversible: the colors are inverted to offer two distinct looks in a single model.
